The famous modern writer Anatoly Kim (b. 1939) showed in his work a synthesis of the culture of East and West, Europe and Asia. The highest tension of his philosophical searches and the artistic form adequate to this allowed us to talk about a special, “Kimov’s metaphorical realism.” The collection includes a cycle of philosophical and fantastic novels by the writer, in which he raises the problem of human immortality. According to the author, high thought will captivate the reader, fantasy and phantasmagoria will help to comprehend a completely new “philosophy of immortality.” In the story “The Wall,” the writer reflects on how one can lose or wish to destroy one’s original immortality.
