He is irked, too, by the fact that Matthew Bartholomew, his friend and Corpse Examiner, appears to be wholly distracted by the charms of the town’s leading prostitute.

Книга "Знак вбивці" стала для мене справжнім відкриттям у світі історичних детективів. Автор майстерно поєднує історичні факти з вигаданими подіями, створюючи напружену атмосферу та інтригуючий сюжет. Опис заворушень в Оксфорді в 1355 році вражає своєю реалістичністю, а персонажі, зокрема брат Майкл і Метью Варфоломій, виглядають дуже живими та переконливими. Я був вражений, як автор вміло передає емоції героїв та їхні внутрішні конфлікти, що робить читання ще більш захоплюючим. Хоча в тексті є деякі недоліки в перекладі, це не заважає насолоджуватися чудовою історією. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто любить детективи з історичним контекстом і загадками!
