The play “Colleagues” by Emil Braginsky and Eldar Ryazanov became the basis for the script for one of the most beloved Soviet films by viewers, “Office Romance” in 1977. The plot is familiar to many: a statistical agency, its boss, the “bluestocking” Lyudmila Prokofyevna, the senior statistician Novoseltsev, who is caring for her, and their colleagues, watching the development of a “romance in the workplace.”
