The book by the famous Slovenian historian, academician of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts Jože Pirjevec, written on the basis of rich archival material, not only introduces in detail the biography of Josip Broz Tito, who decisively influenced the formation of Yugoslav history during World War II - as an organizer partisan movement, and after it - as the head of socialist Yugoslavia. It gives a broad panorama of the life of the Yugoslav peoples from the beginning of the 20th century. until 1980.
