In 1982, Isaac Asimov returned to his galactic saga, which he abandoned in 1953 when the peripheral planet Terminus became the leader of the rebirth of the Galaxy, but remained under the secret control of the Second Community. In the new novel, an unlikely pair of heroes of a new generation - honest young politician Golan Trevitz and armchair scientist-historian Yanov Pelorat - find themselves exiles from Terminus, hunters for a mysterious ancient planet and bait for agents of the Second Community.
