At the center of the novel “Oskomina” by the famous American writer and screenwriter Nora Ephron is the story of the breakup of one prosperous family. The main character talks about these tragic events for her, and tells it wittily, not sparing herself or others and interspersing caustic observations with recipes for dishes. At the same time, this story of a broken marriage gives an idea of the life of a whole layer of people whose parents had such difficulty getting out of poverty. Their children now travel, gourmet, buy houses and at the same time cannot cope with their problems without the help of psychoanalysts and group therapy sessions. A film was made based on the novel “Sharp on the Edge”, starring Meryl Streep and Jack Nicholson.
