We bring to the attention of the reader a two-volume collection of prose by Vladimir Bogomolov (1926-2003) - volume I “The Moment of Truth”, volume II - “The Pain of My Heart” - the most complete collection of works by the outstanding Russian writer. The first volume included the famous novel “The Moment of Truth” (“In August '44...”), which immediately became an international bestseller after publication and was translated into more than fifty foreign languages. This edition of the novel (114th) is for the first time accompanied by documentary materials from the archives of V.O. Bogomolov, relating both to the creative biography of the writer himself and to the “biography” of the book. The second volume, “The Pain of My Heart,” includes famous war stories and stories by V.O. Bogomolov: “Ivan”, “Zosya”, “First Love”, etc., as well as chapters from the yet unpublished novel “My Life, Or Did I Dream About You...” The texts of the two-volume book were selected, prepared for publication and commented on by the writer’s wife — R.A.
