One night during a storm in the Lofoten Islands, near the fishing village of Reine, a landslide comes down from the mountain. A deep crevice is created, revealing what at first glance appears to be old human bones. Only very small ones. In a village boarding house there is a guest who was injured in a fire. The fire took away his sight and speech, and he cannot complain to anyone that the pain is getting worse, because someone is doing everything possible to make him worse day by day. “The Storm” by Frode Granhus (1965–2017) - a striking example of a Scandinavian detective story, where the plot leaves the reader in suspense until the last page and does not allow him to put the book down.

Книга "Шторм" занурює читача в атмосферу таємниці та тривоги, що панує на Лофотенських островах. Сюжет розвивається навколо загадкового зсуву, який відкриває таємниці минулого, та постраждалого, що страждає від наслідків пожежі. Автор майстерно створює напружену атмосферу, де кожна деталь має значення, а читач постійно намагається розгадати загадки, що оточують героїв. Персонажі прописані дуже детально, їхні переживання та емоції відчуваються на кожній сторінці. Хоча переклад тексту іноді має недоліки, це не заважає загальному враженню від книги. Рекомендую всім, хто любить детективи з елементами психологічної драми та захоплюючими сюжетними поворотами!
