The hired killer Alexander Kotik, on instructions from the Main Intelligence Directorate, goes to the Philippines to the City of Angels. There he tracks down and eliminates Colonel Reutov, the personal assistant of a very influential person in military criminal circles. By coincidence, Kotik falls into the hands of the local police. He receives a life sentence and is serving his sentence in a maximum security correctional facility. GRU officer Sergei Karpov decides to get Alexander out of prison and develops an escape plan.
