Eric Argus is an unemployed scientist whose early work brought him fame but almost drove him insane. Now he has one last chance to restore his reputation. During one of his studies, he modifies a paradoxical physics experiment demonstrating the dual nature of light and matter, and as a result makes a stunning discovery about human consciousness and the structure of the universe. It creates real chaos in scientific circles and affects every person on Earth. A real struggle is breaking out between science and faith, the concept of free will and predestination.
