“The Road Goes Away…” is the first story in the autobiographical trilogy (“In the Hour of Dawn,” “Spring”) by Alexandra Brushtein (1884–1968). The book describes the childhood and school years of young Sashenka Yanovskaya, whose prototype is the author.
