Віолле-ле-Дюк, завдяки своєму глибокому знанню та досвіду, майстерно аналізує еволюцію фортець і знарядь, які використовувалися у війнах між Англією та Францією. Його опис замків та їх оборонних механізмів настільки детальний, що читач може легко уявити собі атмосферу тих часів. Хоча переклад тексту іноді має незначні недоліки, це не заважає загальному сприйняттю книги. Я б рекомендував цю працю не лише історикам, але й усім, хто прагне зрозуміти, як архітектура впливала на хід історії. Це дійсно захоплююча та пізнавальна книга!
