The presented work is called a “Dictionary”, since it is difficult to limit the goals that stood when writing it - this is a repository of words disappearing from everyday life, and emphasizing the original sound or meaning of words that are still quite common in our northern regions, and, sometimes, quite lengthy explanation of historical, professional concepts characteristic of such a historical area of eastern Siberia as the Turukhansky region. In the explanation of perhaps not so complicated words, information is sometimes added about the psychology of the northerner. So what is this book? A bit of a dictionary, a bit of an essay, a bit of a reference book. With all its modesty, it can serve as a kind of raw material for philology students, a reference book for local historians, tour guides, for curious tourists who have not yet been to the North and have not had time to experience its bewitching and attractive power. And I would like it to be recognized in northern families as an illustration of traditional life.
