During the investigation of the largest theft of personal information in the history of the United States, the investigation came to the attention of Belarusian citizen Sergei Pavlovich, who was found guilty of selling stolen bank card data. The brains behind these operations was Albert Gonzalez, an informant for American intelligence agencies. According to US authorities, the damage from the actions of Gonzalez's 11 Friends exceeded a billion US dollars.
