The book includes two novels by the English writer Simon R. Greene from the series of books that became widely known abroad about the adventures of the law enforcement officers of the city of Haven, captains Hawk and Fisher. In the first novel, the main characters, the “tough” but noble Guardians, investigate the murders of mysterious Creatures living on the most amazing street in the city - the Street of the Gods. Another Creature is killed, and riots begin on the Street. Only the courage and resourcefulness of the captains make it possible to restore law and order and find the killer. In the second novel, Hoku and his girlfriend Fisher are tasked with apprehending a spy. But he manages to turn to a sorcerer who changes his appearance, after which the spy hides in the ancestral castle of the MacNeil family.
