The first novel in the series “The Living and the Dead.” Vitano is a great city and the last stronghold of humanity. The city lives on the strength of the magicians' guild, the efforts of the city council and the strength of the city walls that separate Vitano from the world of the Wasteland. There is no life outside the city wall. Vinnie knows this as well as any other city dweller. But fate gives Vinnie an unsolicited gift. By chance, a young man ends up outside the city. The world of the Wasteland turns out to be completely different from what the Vitano authorities imagined it to be. The ideas about the world order that were drilled into him from early childhood turn out to be fiction. Vinnie is dumbfounded. He is getting used to the new world, and behind him intrigues are already woven and incredibly powerful forces are raising their heads, because a guy’s innocent walk outside the city can turn out to be fatal for many.

Захоплююча подорож у світ магії та інтриг!
Роман "Живе та мертве" став для мене справжнім відкриттям у світі сучасної фантастики. Історія Вінні, молодика, який потрапляє за межі безпечного міста Вітано, вражає своєю глибиною та оригінальністю. Автор майстерно створює атмосферу таємниці, показуючи, як уявлення про світ можуть бути спотворені владою. Світ Пустоші, який відкривається перед Вінні, виявляється не лише небезпечним, але й сповненим можливостей та нових знайомств. Я був вражений, як автор вдало поєднує елементи магії, політичних інтриг та особистісного зростання героя. Незважаючи на деякі недоліки в перекладі, які, на жаль, іноді трапляються, загальний сюжет та емоційна напруга книги повністю компенсують ці недоліки. Рекомендую цю книгу всім шанувальникам фантастики та пригод!
