The French master of the detective-adventure genre Maurice Leblanc (1864-1941) entered world literature as the creator of a series of novels about the adventures of Arsene Lupine - a gentleman thief, a burglar with high-society manners and at the same time a fighter for justice. The three-volume collection of Leblanc's works opens with his famous " Rope Dancer”, translated into many languages of the world. The book also presents his first novels about the Don Quixote of the underworld: Arsene Lupine vs. Herlock Sholmes, The Hollow Needle and The Eight Strikes of the Wall Clock.
