The novel by the French writer Eric Fay (1963) “Nagasaki” begins almost like a mystical story: the hero, an unremarkable employee, discovers that an unknown resident has appeared in his apartment, invisible and elusive, but leaving barely noticeable traces of his presence. In reality, everything turns out to be somewhat simpler - and at the same time more complex and deeper. The clear and understandable boundaries of “us” and “stranger” are suddenly blurred, the hero has to face unpleasant, unusual questions.
The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program.
