Paul Anderson (1926–2001) is an American science fiction writer, winner of 8 Hugos, 4 Nebulas, 6 Prometheans, and other awards. An extremely prolific writer - 7 dozen novels, many novels and short stories - he published 2-3 books a year, and the area of his creative interests is almost limitless: SF, children's literature, books popularizing science, adventure novels and detective stories, translations and adaptations Scandinavian sagas. A physicist by training, Anderson also turns to history, sociology, and anthropology in his works. Adventures in space and travel in time, “revival” of myths and alternative history, combining adventurous plot twists and turns with subtle reflections on the fate of humanity... The remarkable plots of his books not only served as a standard of quality for the next generation of writers, but also gained worldwide fame. And it’s not at all difficult to believe that the story “Call Me Joe” could inspire Cameron to shoot “Avatar”, and numerous works on the theme of parallel worlds and instantly moving portals - to create the series “Stargate”...
