An acquaintance Svetka brings her lover, businessman Vadim, to the “new Russian” Larisa Kotova. He asks Larisa to find his friend and employee Kostya, who recently disappeared along with a large sum of money that he was supposed to transfer to his partners. While Larisa is trying to find out under what circumstances Kostya disappeared, the case is gaining steep momentum - Kostya's lover Mila is brutally stabbed to death and his friend Mikhail is shot. The corpse of Kostya himself is found in the forest. Larisa suspects that the culprit of the murders is Vadim, who ordered the investigation. He could well have embezzled the money by killing Kostya, and at the same time Mila and Mikhail, so that they would not shed light on this matter... So what kind of guy is this Vadim - a man who lost three friends at once, or just a good actor?..
