The main character of the novel "Treasures of Peru", Benno Zurheiden, meets Ramiro, the director of a traveling circus that has come to his native Hamburg. However, this acquaintance did not please the young man’s uncle, who sent Benno to a merchant he knew in Rio de Janeiro. On the ship, fate brings Benno back together with Ramiro, who is heading to Rio to pick up the diamonds he is owed, found by his grandfather. Having escaped from the merchant, Benno and Ramiro embark on a journey full of dangers and surprises through the jungle in search of the diamond mines of Ramiro's grandfather...Under the name Karl Verishofer, publisher P. P. Soykin published at the beginning of the 20th century the adventure novel "Treasures of Peru" by Sophie Verishofer, an extremely popular German writer of the late 19th - early 20th centuries.
