In 1903, former cashier, pharmacist and prisoner William Sidney Porter, who took the pseudonym O. Henry, entered into an agreement with the New York World newspaper, according to which he had to submit a story every Sunday for a fee of one hundred dollars. More than 100 years later, we are publishing one of his “hundred-dollar” stories, previously unpublished in Russia.
