Edward de Bono. "Using Lateral Thinking" Although these brief summaries break the problem down into parts, all the chapters of the book are nevertheless connected by three main themes, which are the initial principles of lateral thinking.1. Limitations of template thinking as a method of developing new ideas.2. Using unconventional processes to generate new ideas.3. The goal of unconventional thinking is to develop new ideas that should be simpler, deeper and more effective. The techniques proposed to stimulate the birth of new ideas may seem extremely artificial, because the natural way of thinking is template, logical. Until unconventional thinking does not has become a habit, the conscious use of these artificial techniques is absolutely necessary, since this is the only way to turn the flow of ideas from the natural path of greatest probability. One of the main advantages of unconventional thinking is that its desire for the simplicity of new ideas makes it accessible and independent of level education. The need to use unconventional thinking is not related to the semantics of words, but is dictated by the functional structure of the human brain, which determines thinking patterns. All these aspects will be considered in a future work. The purpose of this study is to consider the usefulness of unconventional thinking, which does not depend on its origin.
