Головний інспектор Бенкс - це персонаж, з яким легко співпереживати, адже його боротьба з минулим та спроби розкрити старі злочини вражають своєю емоційною напругою. Опис руїн старого села, які відкриваються під час посухи, створює атмосферу загадковості та тривоги, а розкриття таємниць минулого змушує замислитися над темою пам'яті та забуття. Хоча в тексті є деякі недоліки в перекладі, вони не зменшують загального враження від книги. Рекомендую всім, хто любить детективи з глибоким сюжетом та складними персонажами!
