The “Ports Of Call/Lurulu” duology was written in 1993 and is the last novel by Jack Vance. The book was translated into Russian only in 2016 by the American Russian-speaking translator Alexander Fet and was never published in Russia either in paper or electronic form.

The boy Myron Taney dreamed of space exploration. In his imagination, he wandered into distant dust clusters and galaxies. But Myron's parents insisted that he study economics, and Myron obediently resigned himself. He was helped by Aunt Hester, an energetic woman who inherited her late husband's wealth.
