The film "The Matrix", released in 1999, unexpectedly introduced various philosophical issues into the field of popular culture, forcing every viewer to spend some time thinking about ideological problems. Among these spectators were philosophy teachers from American universities, whose essays on ethical, epistemological, theological, metaphysical and other issues posed in the film are collected in this book. In addition, for the first time in Russian, a speech at a conference dedicated to “The Matrix” (Karlsruhe, 1999) by the outstanding contemporary thinker Slavoj Žižek is published in full.
The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program.
