“The Honest Mirror of Youth” is a book from the early 18th century, consisting of two parts. The first part includes the alphabet and tables of syllables, while the second is actually a “mirror”, or a collection of rules of behavior for noble boys and girls. Young gentlemen are prescribed good manners and education, as well as respect for parents, hard work and silence. “The Honest Mirror of Youth” is considered the first Russian textbook on etiquette.
