“Seventy Stories of a Parrot” (“Shukasaptati”) is a collection of Sanskrit short stories that develops the tradition of ancient Indian literature established by the “Panchatantra”. The exact time of its composition is unknown; often its final design dates back to the 12th century. The stories are based on folklore stories, known in India in ancient times and repeatedly subjected to literary adaptation... The frivolous merchant wife Padmavati, in the absence of her husband, who has gone to a foreign land, wants to meet her lover. But every time she is about to leave the house, she is held back by a tame parrot who tells entertaining stories. This continues for 70 days, until the husband returns.

The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
