The action takes place in the middle of the 21st century. A mysterious force arrives on Earth to save this unique world from an environmental disaster caused by human activity. First of all, it removes souls from the bodies of the majority of the planet's population and keeps them in an inactive state in order to provide them with more perfect bodies in the future. Former rural chemistry and physics teacher Evgeny Myakishev goes to the lake for fishing. There he is eaten by mutant fish created by extraterrestrial forces, and his soul becomes part of their collective mind. After this, the lake begins to communicate with local residents using Zhenya Myakisheva as an avatar. From this moment on, local residents and extraterrestrial intelligence begin to learn more and more about each other. The villagers lack the education to deepen mutual understanding, and Zhenya Myakishev cannot leave the lake in search of surviving scientists without the risk of accidentally destroying the entire planet. Former intelligence officer Tolyan, his brother Lyokha, sister Masha, fellow villager Vasily and US Army Corporal Dwayne Robinson, sent to monitor the radiation situation, undertake to help extraterrestrial intelligence understand people in order to give them the opportunity to live conflict-free and happy.
