Авторка майстерно передає емоції та переживання головної героїні, яка, незважаючи на всі труднощі, зуміла піднятися з низів суспільства до вершин, а потім знову зазнати краху. Мері Енн – це не просто куртизанка, а складна особистість, яка викликає симпатію та співчуття. Дюмор'є вдалося створити атмосферу епохи, наповнену інтригами, пристрастю та боротьбою за виживання. Хоча переклад тексту дещо недосконалий, це не заважає насолоджуватися історією. Я б рекомендував цю книгу всім, хто любить глибокі та емоційні романи, які змушують задуматися про природу людських стосунків і цінності
