The novel “Our mothers bought things so that there would be no war” is a detective story, or rather a thriller, where death stands in the way of almost all the characters. The impetus for the bloody events is the release of the novel by a little-known writer “Our mothers bought things so that there would be no war.” The novel sits motionless in stores for a whole year, and suddenly eight readers buy it. Is there any connection between them? What made them make this purchase? A writer who has suffered all his life from misunderstanding and who has sacrificed everything to literature, decides to find the eight buyers of his book and, perhaps, admirers of his talent. But despite the fact that he lives in a tiny town where everyone knows each other, it is incredibly difficult for a writer to meet his readers. Almost all of them die mysteriously just before the meeting, as if the very purchase of a book, the contents of which no one will ever know, becomes fatal. The writer is trying to unravel a bloody plot that leads to a dead end...
