Павло Басинський майстерно відтворює атмосферу епохи, показуючи, як ідеї та віра формували погляди цих двох чоловіків. Читач отримує можливість заглянути в їхні душі, зрозуміти їхні переконання та причини ворожнечі. Книга спонукає до роздумів про віру, моральність та роль особистості в суспільстві.
