On November 12-13, 1940, Soviet-German negotiations took place in Berlin. On the Soviet side, the delegation was headed by the Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars, Vyacheslav Molotov, and on the German side, by Reich Chancellor Adolf Hitler. The negotiations are considered to be the prologue to the Soviet-German war.
