The planet Fenris rotates on its axis so slowly that in one year there are only four changes of day and night. In these cruel conditions live its few inhabitants, whose main occupation is hunting huge sea monsters for subcutaneous fat. The novel tells the story of the struggle of sea hunters with their corrupt leadership for fair prices for monster fat, on which the prosperity of Fenris depends.
