Young Darina is kidnapped by robbers. On the way to the slave market, she manages to escape with the young novice Anton, the pious brother of the treacherous boyar Karp. A treacherous arrow ends Anton’s life, and Darina falls into the hands of Karp, who takes her by force as his wife. A year later, Karp, who entered into an alliance with the Mongols, dies in battle with the prince’s warriors. Darina faces a long and difficult struggle, but the young woman does not lose hope for a long-awaited meeting with love. And in this she is helped by an ancient ring that belonged to women who saw the death and rebirth of Constantinople and Kyiv.
