Once upon a time, the kingdom of Cornicopia was the richest and happiest in the world. The king was famous for his incredibly beautiful mustache. Confectioners, sausage makers, cheese makers and winemakers invented such delicious delicacies and drinks that those who were lucky enough to taste them cried with happiness. The country prospered, the people rejoiced. Everything would be fine, but in the foggy, gloomy Smurland, located in the north of the kingdom, there were rumors about the Ickabog, a terrible swamp monster. No one believed in the existence of a monster from a children's fairy tale, until one day the nightmare became a reality.

Will a fairy-tale monster really defeat the king and destroy the well-being of an entire state? Will a bedtime story really turn into a deadly adventure for two little children? Can hope, truth and true friendship really overcome even the most terrible misfortune?
