At the beginning of the 20th century, the works of L. Charskaya (1875–1937) were extremely popular among young people. Her numerous stories and novels sang sublime love, depicted the romance of everyday life, gymnasium and college interests, passions, and the clash of characters. Whatever L. Charskaya wrote about, she always sought to instill in the reader sublime feelings and strong moral principles. The adventure story “Lesovichka” tells us about the events happening to the girl Ksanya. From the forest lodge, where she spent her early childhood, Ksanya ends up in the count's estate Rozovoye, then in a correctional boarding school for troubled teenagers and, finally, in the theater, and immediately - in the main roles.
