Історія про золото, яке стає символом не лише багатства, а й зради, підкреслює, як мрії можуть обернутися на жахливу реальність. Персонажі прописані дуже детально, і читач відчуває їхні переживання, страхи та надії. Війна, колонія, виживання – всі ці елементи створюють напружений сюжет, який не відпускає до останньої сторінки.
