“Strife with the Century” is a testimony of two people about the creative life of the writer Arkady Belinkov (1921–1970) in Soviet Russia and abroad. About the turns in his fate: arrest, emigration, early death. With fragments of his published and unpublished books, letters and drafts, Arkady Belinkov himself talks about the time of which he was a victim and judge. Natalya Belinkova, resorting to archival documents and her memories, talks about the writer’s selfless struggle for the publication of his works and his complex relationships with outstanding people of our recent past: Anna Akhmatova, Korney Chukovsky, Viktor Shklovsky and others.
