The series was founded in 1995. This book was invented by the author from beginning to end. Of course, it uses some original materials both from the author’s own practice, a former Russian investigator and lawyer, and from the practice of other Russian lawyers. However, the events, settings and characters are certainly fictitious. Coincidences of names and titles with the names and names of real-life persons and places can only be coincidental. The business trip of the senior investigator of the Prosecutor General's Office, Alexander Borisovich Turetsky, to Ingushetia coincided with an attack by militants on this republic. Turetsky found himself at the epicenter of ominous events. One of the victims of the attack was Turetsky’s friend, prosecutor Zaur Britaev. Finding his killer is a matter of honor for the “important man,” especially since Britaev’s murder is clearly connected with the case that he was investigating. In an unfamiliar city, Turetsky faces many dangers - betrayal by a security guard, opposition from corrupt security forces, revenge, bribery, hostage-taking, political intrigue, elimination of unwanted witnesses. It is unknown how the matter would have ended if Turetsky had not had voluntary, selfless helpers...
