Daniil Kharms and Samuel Bskket knew nothing about each other. Nevertheless, their work is brought closer not only externally - by the absurdity of many texts - but also on a deeper level of metaphysical intuitions. Both writers are concerned with the problem of the fundamental “illogicality” of the world, feel in it the presence of a dark unconscious “being-in-itself” and each in their own way seeks salvation from it - either by achieving a mystical experience of a newly purified world, or by opposing the project to impersonal material-biological being mortal non-existence. The monograph by D. V. Tokarev, exploring the philosophical foundations of the “absurd” creativity of Kharms and Beckett, is addressed to literary scholars, philosophers, and historians of modern culture.

Вражаюче дослідження абсурду в літературі!
Книга "Курс на найгірше" є неймовірно глибоким та продуманим дослідженням творчості двох великих майстрів абсурду — Данила Хармса та Семюеля Беккета. Автор, Д. В. Токарьов, вдало порівнює їхні роботи, вказуючи на спільні теми та метафізичні інтуїції, які об'єднують цих письменників, незважаючи на те, що вони ніколи не знали один про одного. Текст наповнений цікавими аналізами, які допомагають читачеві зрозуміти, як обидва автори реагують на алогічність світу та шукають шляхи порятунку від нього. Монографія буде корисною не лише літературознавцям, але й усім, хто цікавиться філософією та культурою. Єдиним недоліком є переклад, який, хоча й в цілому якісний, іноді містить неточності, що може відволікати від основного змісту. Проте, ця книга безумовно варта уваги та стане важливим доповненням до бібліотеки кожного, хто цінує абсурд у літературі!
