Having shot a man while arresting him, Kurt Wallander becomes depressed and decides to leave the police. When a lawyer he has known for a long time asks Wallander to look into the suspicious circumstances of his father’s death, he categorically refuses. Книга "Людина, яка посміхалася" вражає глибиною емоцій та психологічними аспектами, з якими стикається головний герой, Курт Валландер. Його боротьба з депресією після трагічного інциденту, що стався під час виконання службових обов'язків, змушує читача задуматися про моральні дилеми, з якими стикаються правоохоронці. Сюжет наповнений напругою та несподіваними поворотами, що тримають в напрузі до останньої сторінки. Вбивство адвоката стає каталізатором для Валландера, який, повертаючись до роботи, намагається не лише розкрити злочин, але й знайти себе в світі, де довіра та справедливість під загрозою. Хоча переклад тексту має деякі недоліки, це не заважає насолоджуватися глибоким сюжетом та розкриттям персонажів. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто цінує детективи з психологічним підтекстом і складними персонажами.
