The period of decline of the Han dynasty, which marked the boundary between antiquity and the Middle Ages in China, determined the appearance of Chinese society and Chinese civilization for many centuries to come. This book is devoted mainly to the last decades of the reign of the House of Han and is intended to contribute to the disclosure of the main contradictions and trends of the historical process in imperial China at the turn of antiquity and the Middle Ages. The reader will find in it information about the main political events of that time and the state structure of the late Han empire, which have not yet been studied in Chinese studies.
