This book is not just an example of Austrian erotic literature of the indicated period, setting out in simple-minded language the most frank details of the intimate life of the heroes, but it is also and represents a grandiose literary hoax, since most critics are sure that Felix Salten, the author of the famous fairy tale “Bambi the Fawn” and many other children’s and adult books, is hiding under the pseudonym of Josephine Mutzenbacher. This book, like the trilogy as a whole, is not addressed to the sophisticated reader under 18 years of age.
