Ferdinand of Aragon tries to save the situation and decides to place his daughter Isabella on the throne. But will the independent Aragonese allow a woman to ascend the throne?..

Цей роман є справжнім шедевром, який занурює читача в епоху королеви Ізабелли Кастильської та її чоловіка Фердинанда Арагонського. Автор майстерно передає атмосферу того часу, описуючи не лише політичні інтриги та релігійні конфлікти, але й глибокі особисті трагедії героїв. Ізабелла постає перед нами не лише як сильна правителька, але й як жінка, яка переживає втрати та нещастя, що робить її образ ще більш людяним. Сюжет насичений подіями, які тримають в напрузі до останньої сторінки, а також піднімає важливі питання про віру, владу та відповідальність. Хоча переклад тексту іноді має незначні недоліки, загальне враження від книги залишається надзвичайно позитивним.
