Крилов, як головний герой, проходить через численні випробування, намагаючись повернутися до свого часу, але натомість потрапляє у вир подій революційного минулого. Це створює унікальну можливість для читача побачити, як історія переплітається з вигадкою, а також розглянути питання моралі та ідеалів. Хоча переклад тексту в деяких місцях може бути не зовсім досконалим, загальна якість книги і її сюжет компенсують ці недоліки.
