"Mysterious Polynesia" is a book by the Czech writer and traveler Miloslav Stingl, widely known to Soviet readers for his books about the Indians of South and North America ("Indians without Tomahawks", "Secrets of the Indian Pyramids", "Worshippers of the Stars", etc.). This book is a fascinatingly written essay on the history, ethnography and culture of Polynesia, based on a wealth of scientific material and the author’s personal impressions.
