Former clown and now retired Uncle Kostya ends up in the fairy-tale town of Nemukhin. He is bored and sad without his favorite job, but this lasts only until the Nemukha people persuaded him to become director of the City Museum and start working on a city guide. After all, such a wonderful magical city must have its own guide. While sorting through the dusty exhibits, Uncle Kostya discovers a mysterious drawing depicting an old man. After questioning the Nemukhin old-timers, it turned out that this was the former Night Watchman of the museum, who unexpectedly disappeared from the city some time ago. The watchman kept a chronicle of the life of the city and hid his notes inside museum exhibits - a spyglass, a box, an old telephone, etc. All these notes will serve as the basis for the city guide.
