American Iranian scholar, emeritus professor at Harvard University, honorary doctor of the University of Tajikistan, Richard Nelson Fry, in this book tried to explain the role of medieval Bukhara in the Eastern Islamic world and the Turkization of Central Asia. Taking into account the numerous gaps in Islamic history, the author reconstructs the golden age of Bukhara, which in the 10th century became the capital of the Eastern Iranian cultural space and a symbol of a new order - the Persian Renaissance.
