The hero of “The Duke” is an elderly professor, knocked out of his usual life by his wife’s betrayal and the betrayal of a friend. In difficult times for himself, he rethinks his life path and, not finding real support in it, mentally turns to great people, including those who have died long ago, for support. In these messages of reflection - about God, time, the meaning of life, the death of ideals - the professor tries to gain a new perspective on the world in order to gather strength in the face of further trials.

Глибока та зворушлива історія про пошуки сенсу життя
Книга "Герцог" вразила мене своєю глибиною та емоційною насиченістю. Професор, який переживає зраду та втрату, стає символом людських слабкостей та прагнення знайти своє місце у світі. Його роздуми про Бога, час та ідеали змушують задуматися про власні життєві цінності та вибори. Автор майстерно передає внутрішні переживання героя, що робить його близьким та зрозумілим. Хоча переклад тексту іноді має недоліки, це не заважає насолоджуватися глибоким змістом і емоційною силою книги. Рекомендую "Герцога" всім, хто шукає натхнення та хоче поринути у філософські роздуми про життя.
